A southerly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Besides, the trough of low pressure over the northern part of southern China is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region, and will edge closer to the coastal areas gradually today.

At 5 a.m., Tropical Depression Hagupit was centred about 1020 kilometres east of Manila. It is forecast to be slow-moving, dissipating gradually over the seas east of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for today:
Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Showers will increase gradually with squally thunderstorms later, and will be heavy in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 29 degrees during the day. Moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh offshore and on high ground.

Outlook: Occasional showers in the next couple of days. Showers will be heavier in some areas. Windy and there will still be a few showers early next week.
